Overview of the YMI Brand Ranking System – Scope of the Report

The YMI Brand Ranking System was launched by YouNet Media in 2019,  aimed at establishing a new measurement standard for evaluating and ranking the effectiveness of brand and campaign activities. The YMI Brand Ranking provides a neutral and objective perspective on brand performance by industry on social media.

The brand rankings in the YMI Brand Ranking are assessed based on an integration of several indicators: 

  • Brand Mention Score (based on the volume of conversations mentioning the brand), 
  • Sentiment Score (based on positive & negative discussion on social media)
  • Buzz Score (based on total mentions generated about the brand on social media)
  • Audience Scale Score (based on the number of unique audiences who participate in the conversations about the brand). 

Brands appearing in the rankings must meet the criteria of achieving a positive Sentiment Index.

Outstanding Activities of Brands on Social Media in 2025:

Tiger, NAN, Techcombank, and Prudential led the YMI Brand Rankings for 2025, representing the vibrant industries: Beer, Powdered Milk, Banking, and Insurance.

  • The Beer industry continued to affirm its heat with approximately 15.2M total mentions on social media, a slight decrease of 8.53% compared to 2024. Brands simultaneously stirred up the community with large-scale mega-concerts such as Tiger Remix, Heineken Countdown, The Grand Light Music Festival – Larue Lumifest or Siêu Tiệc Bật Xanh… Simultaneously, associating brand images with prestigious tournaments such as UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, Tiger Street Football… helped brands increase interaction and deeply connect with fans.
  • The Powdered Milk industry in 2025 claimed the leading position with nearly 19.2M total mentions on social media, yet decreased by 14.92% compared to 2024, through communication campaigns revolving around scientific foundations and specialized nutritional solutions. Leading brands actively increased connection with parents through consultation livestream series with experts, doctors, and the strong dissemination of messages from users. Additionally, the close cooperation strategy with major retail chains and presence at large-scale festivals like “Mẹ Bầu & Em Bé” helped brands maintain total mentions and positive interaction within the community.
  • The Banking industry boomed with the brand “rejuvenation” strategy through strong investment in the entertainment and pop culture sectors, attracting over 10.5M industry-wide total mentions, a surge of 124.04% compared to 2024. Brands raced in the sponsorship of international-scale music and Esports events and hit reality TV shows. In parallel, the trend of launching MVs featuring famous artists, large-scale Marathon tournaments, and CSR activities were the main pillars helping banks increase total mentions and capture community sentiment.
  • The Insurance industry in 2025 made a strong transformation, receiving approximately 6.2M total mentions, sharply increased by 88.86% compared to 2024, with communication campaigns delivering creative activities. Besides spreading green and healthy living messages, brands also increased sustainable connection with the community through a series of practical CSR activities, charity runs, and large-scale customer appreciation programs on the occasion of celebrating remarkable milestones.

1. YMI Ranking – Top 5 Beer Brands on Social Media in 2025

Tiger excelled in winning position #1 YMI Brand of the Year 2025 in the Beer Industry. Tiger continued to hold a “streak” of 6 consecutive years as #1 YMI Brand of the Year (2020-2025). Throughout the year, Tiger maintained its form across months, with 10 times entering the top 5 YMI Brand of the Month and 4 times claiming position #1 in the Beer industry. During the Tet 2025 period, the brand dominated the top spot driven by the Tet campaign “Sát Cánh Gầm Vang”, and was the sponsor of the TV show “Sóng 25”. Heineken continued to secure the #2 YMI Brand of the Year 2025 in the Beer Industry, highlighted by leading the industry-wide YMI Brand of The Month ranking 5 times. The brand welcomed the new year with the Tet campaign “Mở Kết Nối Thật, Tết Bật Heineken!”, along with the music festival “Heineken Countdown 2025” in Nha Trang, featuring Alan Walker, Tóc Tiên, Erik, Vũ Thảo My, Quang Hùng MasterD, HURRYKNG and Karik. Running in parallel was “The Grand Light Music Festival – Larue Lumifest” across Da Nang, Quang Nam, Gia Lai, Vinh Long, and Ca Mau. Featuring performances by Duc Phuc, Duong Domic, Ha Nhi, Huynh James Pinboy, and Juky San, the events attracted a total of nearly 50,000 attendees. Going beyond media activities, Larue also rolled out the CSR initiative “Cùng cộng đồng đón Tết an vui”, gifting Tết Tấn Tới packages to disadvantaged households. NAN won position #1 YMI Brand of the Year 2025 in the Powdered Milk Industry, maintaining its form compared to 2024. Over the past year, NAN made a strong impression by holding the top ranking (#1) for all 12 months, affirming the brand’s sustained influence throughout 2025. Beginning the year, the brand received responses from moms in groups/communities for the Tet minigame “Chọn NAN Sữa Mát Thụy Sĩ, Khởi Đầu Hoàn Mỹ Cho Cả Năm Như Ý”. NAN maintained a prominent media presence through promotional activities with multiple influencers, generating a large volume of discussions among mothers across multiple platforms. Conversation topics focused on key nutritional benefits such as digestive support and immune enhancement, reinforcing the brand’s positioning within the powdered milk category. In 2025, Techcombank made a strong impression on social media with 12/12 months in the Top 5 YMI Brand of The Month, including 7 times reaching position #1 industry-wide. Early in the year, the brand deployed the Tet campaign “Sống Tết chất” alongside attractive promotional programs. In 2025, Prudential affirmed a strong mark on social media with 12/12 months holding the top two positions of YMI Brand of The Month, including 8 times reaching position #1. Highlighted by the campaign celebrating its 26th anniversary, the brand strongly spread the mission “Mang yên tâm trọn vẹn đến mỗi gia đình Việt” through a series of minigames with #Yên_Tâm.
